Inspiration...

So I got back from my vacation on Sunday :)
I would post up pictures but pictures fail to capture the monuments... so they disappoint me so I won't be posting any...

Anyways... I started drawing again :) Because I've been inspired... more like influenced... by a YouTube artist named Mark Crilley.. He has a bunch of 'how to' videos on his channel.. here's my favorite one.

Such simple yet cute drawings :) I'm trying to copy all of them... Although I'm not a fan of copying other people's drawings, I want to do that just to get some experience drawing in that style... anyways... ENJOY!

Off to Monument Valley

I'm leaving tomorrow morning for a trip to Monument Valley with my parents... I've never been there before so I don't really know what to expect... All I know is that it's near the point where Arizona, Utah, Colorado & New Mexico meet... Should be fun :) I'll be back on Sunday possibly Monday... Don't know if I'll be able to make any updates while I'm there so... UNTIL THEN!

Allegiance: a new musical

Yesterday, I went to a staged reading of Allegiance with Tursh and Sora. It featured not only Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Les Miserables) & George Takei (Star Trek, Heroes), but also Enrico Rodriguez, Mike Hagiwara,Tamlyn Tomita, Jose Llana, James Synder, and the stars of East West Players' production of The Last Five Years: Michael Lee & Jennifer Paz. Although they performed less than half of all the scenes, I felt so attached to each of the characters in the story. They said that this work would return to Los Angeles after it is further developed, and I CAN'T WAIT!
Allegiance tells the story of a Japanese American family during the Japanese internment during WWII... It revealed a lot about the internment that I didn't know before... and probably never would have known if I hadn't watched this musical.

Anyways, I'm back at home again and my next project is to make an apron. I've never made anything larger than my usual pouches before so it'll be a new experience! Oh and sorry I STILL haven't posted up a picture of the completed Wonder Girls pouches yet...

... dance

I haven't posted in several days because I've been indulging myself in DANCE! Well I haven't been dancing physically but I have been watching dance videos ALL DAY for the past few days!

Couple nights ago I watched the most recent episode of So You Think You Can Dance (Season 5) and I completely fell in love with the contemporary routine choreographed by Mia Michaels performed by Kayla & Kupono...

I literally froze when watching this... Simply amazing!~

So I ended up spending the rest of my time watching past episodes...
Anyways, I started gaining interest in So You Think You Can Dance after watching the Season 4 performance by Mark & Chelsie of Lyrical Hip-Hop choreographed by Tabitha & Napoleon.

Anyways, I'll probably spending my next few days watching all the episodes I missed! :)

OH and in case you were wondering, I DID finish my Wonder Girls project, I'll post up pictures some other time...

WG Project continues

Today... sew, sew, sew, tv, spring rolls, blog

So as soon as I woke up today I started sewing. Yesterday I went to Joann's and bought all the fabric for the pouches and spend the day sewing the faces to the fabric and adding the embroidery. Today I started working on sewing Yenny's pouch... and when I was almost done, my sewing machine broke. I had finished the pouch portion but it broke while I was working on the drawstrings... So I had to stop working on the pouches :( Anyways here's a picture from this morning...

BUT, I realized a little while ago that I forgot to sew the earrings!~ It's not too late to add them to the other girls's pouches, but for Yenny's I'll have to sew it on top of the inner lining :(

Anyways, I'm quite satisfied with these pouches so far! I can't wait to finish them. Then I could hurry and film the 30sec video to submit for the Wonder Girls FAN*TASTICS thing so that I could possibly meet them to give these to them... Even if I don't get chosen, and I don't get to meet them, I think I would either keep them just cause they are cute. Or maybe give them as gifts? I don't know. But I can't wait to finish them!
